Welcome to the website of the Law Office of Stephen J. Murphy.  Stephen J. Murphy has been practicing law in Montpelier since 1975.  As a sole practitioner, he directly handles each case that comes into his office.  In his general practice law firm, he has responded to and served the needs of hundreds of clients having legal issues in northern and central Vermont, including Washington, Orange, Lamoille, Caledonia and Chittenden counties, as well as other areas of the state.  He has extensive experience representing and advising clients on a variety of legal matters, including, but not limited to:

At  the Law Office of Stephen J. Murphy, you can be assured that your legal matter will be handled professionally, and I will dedicate my time, skills and resources to provide you with the best possible outcome.  I routinely represent clients in divorce, parentage, child custody, child support and relief from abuse cases.  I have settled many cases in which clients or loved ones have been injured in an accident or hurt by defective products.  I have extensive experience drafting and probating wills and have helped many families with guardianships and adoptions.  I can handle all legal issues that pertain to the buying and selling of both personal and commercial property.  Unlike large law firms which generally focus on one or two areas of law, because I handle a wide scope of legal issues, Iam able to use past experience to expedite results in your case.

If you are struggling with any legal issues, chances are I can help.  Please feel free to call my office at (802) 229-0444 to set up a consultation.  I offer a free initial consultation of up to 30 minutes and a variety of payment options, including a contingent fee arrangement for clients with personal injury lawsuits.
